Snowy Evenings

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

By: Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

The Road

"'It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door,' he used to say.  'You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to...'"

Chapter 3 Three is Company; The Fellowship of the Ring; The Lord of the Rings
J.R.R. Tolkien

What can I say, I'm still Tolkien obsessed.  This quote is actually one of many that inspired I Walked with Shadows.  The idea that we all have to walk out the door, but in doing so take a risk and could encounter any number of experiences, is pretty dang inspiring if I do say so myself.  Thanks Tolkien, for putting this wonderful idea into just a few words.

SO SNOWY!
